This Month Club Congress celebrates the 7th release on DJ Matpat’s record label Clubby Boy. ‘Hold Your Hand’ is a soulful deep house summer jam made with fellow Philadelphian & singer Fawziyya Heart, expect a live performance by Fawziyya along with CC’s regular House Heavy DJ sets. Fawziyya Heart, a soulful songstress from Philadelphia, draws inspiration from Nina Simone and Erykah Badu, blending funk, jazz, blues, and soul into her music. Immersed in the Philly music scene, she collaborates with bands and Grammy-winning percussionist Pablo Batista in WorldTown Sound System. In 2019, she released an EP of original compositions featuring local talent, with production by Chuck Treece and Logan Roth of Trap Rabbit. Fawziyya’s music, rich with anthemic lyrics for social change and personal transformation, will see new releases this fall.Starting at the age of 13 with a crate of his big brothers records DJ Matpat has taken the time to develop a sound of his own rooted in House Music, all the while acquiring a wide breadth of musical knowledge to underpin his ethos of “playing the right song for the right moment”. As a producer he has released on a range of different labels including Derrick Carter’s Persnickety All Stars & Stretch Armstrong’s Plant Music. As always, North Philly selector Security Dog aims to summon a rather sapphic n’ steamy Friday evening for your favorite light up venue. This time she’s recruited Pittsburgh based DIY daddy Malzof. Co-founder of weeknight party Sweet Abyss with partner in crime Kiernan Laveaux, they are best known for their gooey left-field sounds n’ trippy visual projections. Expect a contemplative blend of driving beats and soaring vocals that defy genre n’ demand dancers find catharsis in their feelings. There’s no guessing where this wild ride may take you, so best prepare yourself for whiplash & giddy up!

JET w/ Gina Turner & Friends
This month’s JET at Dolphin Tavern features some incredible talent. Join Gina Turner, Gvantsky, and CRSPY on Friday May 17th from 9pm to 2am! JET is a monthly event curated and hosted by Gina Turner. Gina Turner is a genre-fluid musician known for her eclectic tastes in music, ranging from tech house to drum and bass. She has collaborations in the works with artists like Benga, Getcosy, Steve Darko, and Mija. She will also be releasing a song each month starting April 2024. Gina blends yoga and music seamlessly, offering unique experiences worldwide at festivals like Ultra, EDC and more. Co-founder of The Divine Movement, she leads yoga immersions globally, balancing her practice with Restorative Yoga. She embodies a message of inclusion, guiding others to embrace all aspects of life. That message rings true in her DJ sets and her original productions as they range multiple genres and “include it all” Gvantsky originally from Tbilisi Georgia, now a Philadelphia resident since 2017. Growing up in the underground scene of Tbilisi and Philly exposed her to a quality music from a young age. Her sound covers from deep house ,house to minimal , electro and techno, often bringing it all together with her own touch .

Melissa Brooks: Melissa Brooks, based in Los Angeles, made her name with band The Aquadolls in 2012, then gaining success through DJing and creating remixes for artists like Slayyyter and 100 gecs. She released her debut album “Bratitude” in July 2021, and now works on collaborations like “Barbie” with CHYL, whilst preparing for an upcoming 2024 album and tour. Cecilia Gault: Cecilia Gault, raised in Lower Manhattan, of Irish and Japanese descent, Cecilia Gault’s identity is a significant drive for her music and artistry. Her bi-cultural upbringing is a defining feature of Cecilia’s identity and approach to music, which features both English and Japanese lyrics. Sapphfire: Sapphfire, a DJ native to South Philadelphia, is a staple in the local community with her events like So Phresh Philly. Sapphfire will be our host and local support.
