Biome returns to Philadelphia for the first time since their inception in 2022, and this time they’ve invited local gem Furtive to take the reins after an opening set from resident Taylor Shockley, on December 19th from 9pm–2am at The Dolphin.
Furtive is a full-gonzo, polychromatic rave conjurer. A Philadelphia-based producer, DJ, visual artist, and event organizer, Furtive manifests the rave with technoid propulsion and delightfully unexpected whiplash moments of the sentimental and psychedelic. They foster underground community as a DIY rave organizer, co-founding and co-running Bounce House—an off-the-books, precious warehouse venue in Philly. Riding high off recent performances at The Great Beyond, Honcho Campout, Nowadays, and more, and with regular radio appearances on Great Circles, The Lot, and beyond, Furtive brings an unapologetic finesse to their chameleonic sonic sorcery that’s bound to charm you.
On warmup, Taylor Shockley sets the tone with a hypnotic style that draws inspiration from nature, technology, futurism, and the human psyche. Residing in Philadelphia once again, you may have heard him at parties like Subsurface, Goodie, Bump, or Making Time in recent times. In his 14+ years of experience, Taylor has shared lineups with artists such as Jane Fitz, Carlos Souffront, Helena Hauff, S.O.N.S, DJ Koolt, Lena Willikens, Carl H, Tin Man, Evan Baggs, Spekki Webu, Vera, Hicham, Dan Curtin, Axel Boman, Walrus, DJ Masda, Nicolas Lutz, Christian AB, Quest, and many more. Be sure to arrive early and find your friends in the fog to experience the full spectrum of sounds on display for what’s sure to be a fantastic night of music.
